evidence to support the administration of nutritional supplements to pets is
often very weak. Best evidence are
randomised controlled trials (RCTs) Manganese (n=1 RCT
- in a mixture) In one RCT in which manganese was present as a component
of a commercially available mixture with glucosamine and chondroitinc
(Moreau 2003) (n=23) there
was no improvement in signs of OA based on objective (ground reaction forces)
measurements or subjective owner and veterinary assessment. Evidence : WEAK No
